Meeting with the Okinawa Association of Corporate Executives
On 23 October 2026, Nisuikai was pleased to welcome a delegation from the Okinawa Association of Corporate Executives to Auckland.
The delegation consisted of 19 business leaders from Okinawa Prefecture, including Representative Secretaries Miki Fuchibe and Hiroyuki Motonaga. Nisuikai was represented by President Yukihisa Shibata, Vice President Yukio Mashimo, and External Relations Officer Akira (Terry) Ito.
During the meeting, Nisuikai provided an overview of its activities, the current state of the New Zealand economy, and the business environment in Auckland. This was followed by a wide-ranging discussion on the potential for greater economic and cultural exchange between Okinawa and New Zealand.
In particular, participants exchanged views on common challenges and growth opportunities facing both regions, including workforce recruitment and retention, tourism, energy, and support for startups. Participants also shared candid perspectives on differences in working styles and culture, making the meeting a highly valuable opportunity for mutual exchange.
Nisuikai looks forward to continuing to build relationships with business organizations throughout Japan and to further promoting mutual understanding and economic cooperation between Japan and New Zealand.
